definately dont go wide open through them. approach them nice and straight with steady throttle all the way through. you cant really just lean back the whole way through them either. hope this helps. what particular track are u struggling with?

straight into it, steady throttle, and whatever you do, do let off on the throttle or else your front wheel will dig into the whoops.
a little stiffer suspension might also help.

but above all, it takes practice, I don't know how many whoop sections I tried before I got it right, and still I crash a lot on whoops :)

sorry for double post. I meant "don't left off the throttle", just in case that wasn't clear

Pretty straight forward.

I hate whoops, especially those buggers at Red Bud. I always hit one with my rear tire, which causes the back to vault half a mile in the air and bury the front. If that doesn't happen, I'll be one tiny fraction of a degree off from perfect aim, and the back end will go a degree one direction, then five the other, then twenty-five degrees back, then I hit the next one sideways. I only make it through that section about 1/3 of the time, and that's usually when I slow-poke it in third. You just get the feeling that it was supposed to be a rhythm section but the planners banked on the acceleration of a KX500.

LMAO, I think the "whoops" at JLV's Red Bud are supposed is supposed to a rhythm section, I just single, then double the rest of them.

Also, I understand where u are coming from, I use the keyboard too. Whoops is the only thing, I have yet to master on the keyboard. I try to enter into the whoops as straight as possible, shift up 1 or 2 gear (normally, I'm in 3rd or 4th gear going into the whoops) and I just pin it. However, some whoops are a little bit more tricky, where you will have to tap the throttle as fast as possible. I also found out, its easy to do the whoops but sometimes, alot of times, its too hard to stop for the corner that is at the end of the whoops (especially when you are 4th gear pinned). One more tip(this is also used in real life): Never, and I mean NEVER, go into the whoops in too low of a gear, there is nothing worse than going into the whoops and hitting the rev limiter and nosing over the bars into the next whoop.

I have a love-hate feeling with the whoops on Ridge Riders. You have to time everything right to do them quickly.

One thing nobody mentioned is this: use manual shifting.

After getting used to it, it made everything easier, especially whoops.

3rd or 4th gear, even on the 2 stroke, is right for most whoops in this game.

I pretty much don't mess with leaning back cuz it's likely to make you swerve (maybe not on the keyboard tho...)

If any of you have gotten good at this game at keyboard, wow.

Seriously tho, why not get a 360 controller? So much more control, only 20$ used, and you can sit much further away from the screen and not fry your eyeballs.
