So my mate just got the game and he is saying that the lag is unbearable, he cant even play. just wondering what would be causing this.

Internet shouldnt effect singleplayer should it? and his laptop runs other games perfectly on maxed graphics so i can possibly see mxs being more of a load then the other games.

Has he tried "High FPS Settings" and then restarted the game? If that doesn't work, it's weird.

Have him make sure it is using the dedicated graphics if he has them. Sometimes the game will default to the integrated graphics on the CPU.

A lot of computers are running software OpenGL out of the box. Try installing the appropriate graphics driver.
