New and need advice!

Post by Plow250 »

Hey guys! just downloaded the game yesterday because I heard good about it, and I got my registration code and all and everything went smooth, but my game seems different from everyone elses game I see on youtube.

I have version 1.10, which I checked is the latest version, and the controls are horrible, like I cant turn or do barely anything it seems, so I figure that must be in the settings, but I would appreciate help  I see people on youtube that are ridiculously fast and it looks so flowing and such and I couldn't get that if I tried, lol. and also, I see all the content on youtube with an abundance more tracks and bikes and stuff than what I have, is this all DLC? if so, where do I download it all, and is it free or some is free others not or what? im pretty sure I have the right game it just seems the bikes look AWFUL like the first version awful, and the bikes and tracks online look so real and much nicer, just wondering if that's DLC or graphics settings or what im doing wrong.

ANY tips to get me going faster is MUCH appreciated as I would love to jump in and start getting good, just ALOT of stuff and overwhelmed and would like some advice from the pros

thanks again all

Yes, it is all DLC. There are a few sources but the best IMO is on the forums in the "Tracks" and "Models and Skins" sections.

Are you using a controller? Its something you have to learn how to do, you have to balance just like IRL. It's not like MvA where you hold it to the side to turn, you have to lean over and then stand it back up with the stick. Its going to take some time to get the hang of it, some people get it quicker than others you just have to practice and try to stay up not go fast.

Don't worry you got the right game :D
Almost all of the content you see on youtube is user created and for the most part can be found as free downloads here in the forums. I suggest to just start with this thread, where the most important things like how to add tracks etc. is explained: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1212

The "fast" gameplay you see on youtube shows experienced players. So don't expect the game to be as smooth and easy as it maybe looked like in videos - Everybody really spends alot(!!) of time just on the ground when they start with MXS  . Don't let that hinder you, start off with ~85 stability and get it down step by step over time.

ok thanks for the reponses guys. I think using a controller (like a ps3 controller) would help out quite a lot, any of you guys know how to connect a ps3 controller to the game? or what you guys use

Yes, using a controller is highly recommended :!:

I personally use an old Rumblepad 2 by logitech. But A PS3 controller should work just as fine with this tutorial:

thanks hanno :D I was actually looking into the DS3 tool and "better ds3 tool" but it seems ds3 carrys viruses and neither of them work anymore. either they just don't work or I cant get them to work  lol

but anyway, it looks like your rumblepad is a lot like a ps3 controller, so maybe ill just get that instead and save the hassle. because that plugs into the usb and works without additional programs I assume right? and does it have enough buttons for all the buttons in MXS?

I really appreciate the help :!:

I think the rumble pad 2 is not available for purchase anymore. Instead logitech came up with an improved gamepad series F310/F510/F710 which should work aswell. I think none of them actually needs any third party software to work on your PC, mine didn't even need a driver. You can also use an Xbox 360 controller if you want ;)

Np, if you want analog R2 & L2 buttons, you need the newer logitech controllers.
