9/90, Shaders/Copy, 512x512, Mipmaps: yes, compressed textures: no, shader programs: yes, lens/reflection = preference.

I never understood what mipmaps do, what is it? Thanks!Wahlamt wrote:9/90, Shaders/Copy, 512x512, Mipmaps: yes, compressed textures: no, shader programs: yes, lens/reflection = preference.

Like LODs for the ground texture and detailJJH186 wrote:I never understood what mipmaps do, what is it? Thanks!Wahlamt wrote:9/90, Shaders/Copy, 512x512, Mipmaps: yes, compressed textures: no, shader programs: yes, lens/reflection = preference.

You only have a 2gb card. You've almost used up all of your vram. You're gonna need to turn some settings down

with a 750ti SC i run 90/9, 256x256, ground mip maps yes, compress textures no, Shaders copy (doesnt look any different than direct), 90/9, roost 0, lens flare no and reflection yes.
i get 125 locked no lag and the game looks great

They are smaller images scaled down from a bigger one to consume less power. At a 200ft distance the decal will only be a few pixels on the screen, making it more or less useless to have a 512x512px image displayed there. The computer instead takes a mipmap, the smaller image and puts it there. This image explains what the computer does, upon load, it creates a few smaller images that it stores in the RAM for faster access.JJH186 wrote:I never understood what mipmaps do?

Think he even said 512 was, and they were there mainly for a video/screenshot purpose.Lynch wrote:1025 is a waste if I remember jlv correctly.
Not too much RAM, at least not what I've seen. It eats graphic card. Pretty CPU dependant, but more GPU.Rd19 wrote:thanks , trying this now , any suggestion for running on 1025 ? what really mxs consume ? ram ? Video ?

Does having it on "yes" make the game lag more. Or is it the other way around.Wahlamt wrote:They are smaller images scaled down from a bigger one to consume less power. I run these specs and i always have 125 fps with 20+ riders on sx tracks (i always download medium res tracks and high res object packs)
i5 4590
Gtx960
100/10 (dont see the diff with 90/9 so i could use 90-10 if it lags)
1024x1024 (jlv says there is no diff but imo there is one, the textures looks way better than 512.. If one day i get lag ill switch to 512!)
90-9 for the last 2, shaders copy , reflections off , compress textures YES,

Yes = mipmaps enabled, which in returns makes it loads less high quality images = less lag.JJH186 wrote:Does having it on "yes" make the game lag more. Or is it the other way around.
