New Graphics Card Help

I was looking at some graphics cards and a guy has one for sale in my town and i was wandering if it would be a good purchase? its a XFX Radeon HD6950 and hes asking 60$? would that be good enough for me to run an online race with 40 other players? i am not looking to run HD graphics while online just want to quit lagging and not being able to race online? any advise is appreciated!!

I'm assuming it's a 2gb card. $60 sounds like a good deal if it's not too old. Could run a 40 man gate, but with the graphics turned down quite a bit and you have to have everyone running stock skins except yourself. Would wait for some other replies though as I did very little research. However the card sounds similar to a gtx660 I had and that was the kind of performance I got out of it.

What do you have now? Let's make sure before you spend $60 you are able to make use of it.

right now im using the stock intel gma 3100 graphics card and its ok for offline play but im getting into the racing online side and need an upgrade

It has a Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz and 8 gb of ram running windows 7 home premium 64 bit
