MXS crashing

I just saw that this game existed and I downloaded the Demo.
The problem is that it isn't working for crap! When I choose to race, the game lags with about 1sec interval, the sound lags, and it's all black and all I see is the blue starting gates and some red arrows. And it uses 90% memory, 1million KB! My graphic drivers are up to date. Im using a laptop with 32bit Vista, 2GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo 2,1GHZ, ATI Mobility Radeon x1350.
Thanks!

If you don't have the 9.12 ATI drivers you should try them. Versions 9.8 through 9.11 had a memory leak.

When I check at HP.com, for my model and my graphic card the latest driver is 8.40, which already is installed.

Installed ATI Catalyst 9.12. Nothing happened, still the same. But when I check catalyst, it's still 8.4.
WHAAAT!?

Update : I tried the game on another computer, with lower performance but with XP. It worked flawlessly, apart from I couldn't go 10ft without laying it on the side.
Please help!

You might want to check out
Mobility Modder if your laptop won't let you upgrade the drivers. Just remember it's not supported by either ATI or HP, so you're on your own with it.

Thank you for your tip! I tried the Mobility Modder but after successful installation of the newest drivers the ATI Catalyst wouldn't start, because of some file missing. I tried it several times, uninstalled the drivers and installed the newest again and nothing worked properly. Up all night, and all I did was go back to the original driver from HP.com, which is 8.4.
Still, it doesn't work

I was looking at their forum and it seems that 9.12 changed the installer, which prevents Mobility Modder from working. Might be better to use the 9.7 driver.
It's amazing that HP can't be bothered to update their drivers once a year. If they don't want to they could at least let ATI do it.
