Hi. To start with I want to say that I absolutely love this game. It's brilliant!
BUT, It crashes when I'm about to play.
When I enter the game and select track and decide to play, it loads and then 5/10 times I come into the race but got about 1½ second until it crashes and says "The program has stopped working and is exiting." Or something. (Not necessary the ingame error its just a regular error-popup.) The other 5 out of 10 times it just crashes before I get into the game.
Strangely, sometimes it runs perfectly maybe 20-30 laps but then when I'm about to enter the finishline it crashes directly, like theres some reading/writing error to the files that maybe lists my highscores?
But most of the times the race itself wont start. It completes the loading on both Ekswanbee Park and the other demotrack (Im using only demo) but crashes when its done loading.
I've tried to re-install but that won't do any good.
This sucks. Really.
Any ideas?
I'm running on good computer with max graphics.
These are my specs;
Intel i5 750 @ 2.66ghz core
4GB memory
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Radeon HD5850
320GB harddrive

Re: Game crashes
Make sure you have the Catalyst 9.12 drivers. 9.8 through 9.11 are buggy.

Re: Game crashes
In that case, look in the control panel under "Problem reports and solutions". Select "Problem history". Right click on mx.exe and choose "View details".
The most useful info is "Fault Module Name" which will tell you the module the crash is happening in. If the fault module is "mx.exe", the exception offset will be useful too.

Re: Game crashes
hey jlv, ive noticed this bug too.
it only happened since ive been on windows 7 tho, sometimes mx sim wont load the first few tries from the shortcut and crashes. but after like 3 retry it works. ill try and check a few settings when it happens but i do believe something in windows collides with something

But it really won't start for 20-30 tries. Or never sometimes. I've tried quit some programs but won't work for me.mxer323 wrote:hey jlv, ive noticed this bug too.

Really hard to say without even knowing the faulting module.

Re: Game crashes
I noticed it worked more often if I close Msn Messenger! Maybe it has to do with colliding programs after all. Seems I can open the game and then open messenger without errors.
Still its pretty odd msn cant be open when i open mxsim. Might be because this 64-bit-shit-system-crap. All my games crashes nowadays because this.
Well, atleast I can play now, little more often anyhow.
Maybe you should add this to "FAQ" or something. Good to know.
