Racing Wheel in MXS

Post by Cliff2Four »

Hi all,
kinda a weird question but i have the demo of MXS and i want to try to use my logitech g27 racing wheel with it, it'll beat using a keyboard. I got the steering to work but it wont recegnize the pedal axis's. i also have a clutch pedal and was woundering if there is a full clutch axis in this game, if not no problem because in real motocross its only used to get moving. I also know that for some reason the g27 has a different key that it uses for accelerater and break but it works with most games but the clutch is normal but MXS won't reacegnize that ether.

any help will be much appretiated

Thx cliff

Hi Cliff. here is what to do to get the clutch pedal from your G27 work in MXS.

First, goto this folder. C:\Users\-YOUR USER NAME HERE- \AppData\Local\MX Simulator
Then open the file named " config " with notepad.

once open, look for the section that has text like below (it should be the same except for the clutch axis data)

throttle_key=(0.000000,-1.000000)LogitechG27RacingWheelUSBaxis 1front_brake_key=(0.000000,1.000000)LogitechG27RacingWheelUSB axis 1rear_brake_key=(0.000000,1.000000)LogitechG27RacingWheelUSB axis 1left_key=(0.000000,-1.000000)LogitechG27RacingWheelUSB axis 0
right_key=(0.000000,1.000000)LogitechG27RacingWheelUSB axis 0clutch_key=(1.000000,0.000000)LogitechG27RacingWheelUSB axis 4

Copy the above section, cut the old bit out and paste the above section in place of the old, or enter it manually by hand. This is correct for the G27 to work fully.

Once you have done this. Open your Logitech gaming software, Navigate to steering wheel Degree Of Rotation slider and adjust to 40 degrees. Then go play MXS and if need be, adjust Degrees of Rotation to suit your riding.

Have fun m8

Opps, I think you would know to save the config file, but I should have added at this point:-

Copy the above section, cut the old bit out and paste the above section in place of the old, or enter it manually by hand. THEN SAVE THE FILE. DO NOT PUT A FILE EXTENSION TO IT!!! ITS NAME IS "config" only. This is correct for the G27 to work fully.

MXS should recognize your G27 for gas, brakes, and steering. You should use MXS Control Configuration to setup these and then add the clutch data to the config file. Mine works perfectly with those setting? Let me know what happens.

this is what my setting ended up being

throttle_key=(0.000000,-1.000000)LogitechG27RacingWheelUSB axis 2
front_brake_key=(0.000000,-1.000000)LogitechG27RacingWheelUSB axis 3
rear_brake_key=(1.000000,0.000000)LogitechG27RacingWheelUSB axis 4
left_key=(0.000000,-1.000000)LogitechG27RacingWheelUSB axis 0
right_key=(0.000000,1.000000)LogitechG27RacingWheelUSB axis 0

oh yah and i disided to us the clutch pedal as the rear break because the clutch is almost never used in motocross so a butten works for me

thx agian for your help
