Moving to a new server tonight

Post by jlv »

I'll be taking the board down and moving it to a new server tonight around midnight eastern time. It should take a day or so for the new IP address to propagate.

Pretty much everything is on both servers and my PC right now. I just have to transfer the forum database over. I did it once last night just to test it, but I'm going to do it again tonight with the board shut down so no posts disappear.

Since the servers changed, I've seen about 3 different people have double posts (same post twice in a row). Not sure if it's something to do with the server change or just a coincidence. Here's an example: http://mxsimulator.com/benchracing3/vie ... =1#p138114

I'm going to assume it's user error for now. Probably just slow loading times causing people to resubmit posts.

It just happened to Jones, he said he only posted it once. http://mxsimulator.com/benchracing3/vie ... 91#p138191

The log has two form submissions. The first took longer than the second to go through as you can see by the timestamp (17:30 was processed before 17:28). This looks like an impatient clicker to me.
