MX Simulator

hey all ive just replaced my mx.exe 1.3 snap with 2010.07.07 1, but when i deleted old 1 i can't use my personal folder anymore and lost skins etc even though when i play it without personal folder it still has skins etc, but if i go to enter from the bikesetup app. it opens 1.3 snap instead. wondering if any1 else has had this trouble cheerz.

let me decipher.
you had the mx.exe from the 1.3 update? then you downloaded the latest snapshot? you put the latest snapshot in the MX simulator folder? and you deleted the old one?
and now your personal folder is gone? seems unlikely. can you explain a bit more?

you renamed the mx-2010-07-07.exe to mx.exe?

when you start up MXS you can see in the bottom right what version you have. it should say 2010-07-07.

when you start up the game you still have all the skins? that means the personal folder still exists and in the place it should be.

now you're saying that if you start it through the bike setup app it starts the old version? that would have to mean that the old version is still in the MX Simulator folder and called mx.exe.

only thing i can come up with is that you didn't rename to new one to MX.exe

maybe a bit more info would come in handy

cheers 4 gettin back 2 me, yeah i deleted the old version wish i didnt now, but yeah it does have the 2010 07 07 at the bottom right when i open snapshot flag from desktop. its just when i click run from bike setup app that it opens in 1.3 version. and ive searched computer for personal folder and no go. i do have the install icon for 1.3 though i just found it if i reinstall will it muck up if i delete the old mx.exe?

the problem is that if you deleted it there is no way for the bike setup app to start it. since the bike setup app only has a file path.
if you replaced the old one with the new one, and called it mx.exe the bike setup app should start the new one, since the path stayed the same.

ok weird huh, its all good i reinstalled and it had all my stuff in personal folder still am i meant to delete the old mx.exe now on desktop and program files or leave it, its just when i press run mx simulator in b.s.a that it loads 1.3. thanks

like i said the new snapshot should be called mx.exe. if that is the case then the bike setup app will open the new one (als long as the path to the mx.exe remains the same). if you leave the old mx.exe in the folder with the name mx.exe, then yes it will open the old one.

thanks heaps servatis, i had renamed 2010 07 07 but not deleted the old mx. exe, im just worried i'l lose personal folder again lol.

Just rename the old mx.exe to mx-original.exe or whatever name you want to give it. No need to delete the old file. The shortcut on the desktop does not need to be changed, it will still be the same shortcut, leave it alone.
