When I use /toggledecals the normal maps stay (in and out of the editor) but become warped. Not game breaking by any means but very annoying since I use this function a lot.
he doesn't have vsync on, from the 3-31 snapshot to this 1-14TM_Infidel wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 11:40 amTurn Vsync off in your GFX settings.dominicschofield wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 3:02 am New snapshot drops my frames by 50%. Changed all graphics settings to go for high fps, no change.

When loaded into some demos for a couple laps i was mainly locked at 91 fps or 111 fps.supercrosspig wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 8:24 pm I tried an outdoor demo on 2021 Redbud and when I'm faced one direction I get 125 frames and when Im faced the other direction I'm locked to 71 frames and the occasional stutter. I have terrain sync rate on 0. Ryzen 9 3900x and 2070 super.
Thanks for the report. I completely forgot about toggledecals when I was testing. Looks like it'll be an easy fix.sethypeety wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 7:12 pm When I use /toggledecals the normal maps stay (in and out of the editor) but become warped. Can you post a specific demo? There's definitely stuff where the legacy GL stuff is faster than the new core stuff.SethShirley44 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 7:54 pm so, the new snapshot i don't have any issues with on sx or sx demos, but on 90% of the outdoor demos ive loaded into to see how the new snapshot would be i get 90fps. I have the setting on 0 which is what was recommended. My Parts are i7-10700k and a rtx1660 super. i have medium resolution tracks with full remover obj also, but when i use the 2021-3-31 snapshot im still able to get consistent 125fps with the same gfx settings and everything.

Thanks for posting that. On my 2400G's integrated graphics using the Linux/Mesa driver it was around 70 FPS for 2021-03-31-1566 and not quite a solid 128 on the current version. Does the gap narrow if you turn ground geometric detail and ground texture levels to 0?SethShirley44 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 2:24 amhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1NDP3Bh ... sp=sharingjlv wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 2:12 amCan you post a specific demo? I know there's a performance problem with AMD cards on Windows with the new OpenGL code (i.e. since 2021-11-22). I was waiting on a new drive so I could install Windows on my AMD machine but I was already pretty deep into redoing the reshading code when it arrived. Going to investigate that now.dominicschofield wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 3:02 am New snapshot drops my frames by 50%. Changed all graphics settings to go for high fps, no change.

This is vs the most recent snapshot, 03/31. Not too sure about which version of OpenGL it was though. I've been trying a few different setups with my graphics card to see if there is anything I can do to fix it on my end, I'll let you know if I find anything!
1) Download the snapshot
