How can i make my game run smoother?

So my dog broke my laptop screen so now via hdmi im hooked up to my tcl roku 4k tv. The tv is 60hz so i have everything set to 1080p 60hz. V sync is turned off so im getting 125fps. Theres no input lag but it gets real choppy at certain points in single player. What else can i do to make the game run better?

Is the TV processing the image? I had to turn that off on my TV, or enable "game mode" or something.
