When launching the game through steam as a non steam game it uses llvmpipe as the Gl renderer instead of my Nvidia gpu causing some pretty heavy stuttering, but this only happens if using a snapshot (tried a few older ones and the newest one) but if I use the 1.13 version from the download link it will use my Nvidia gpu as the renderer.
It will also use the correct gl renderer if I start it using the command line. Wasn’t an issue before now to just use the command line to start the game but I got a steam controller, and it requires you to start games inside of steam in order to have gamepad functionality.
I’m using Cashyos but had the same problem on bazzite as well, it does however seem to work fine on steam deck.

Re: Running Mx Sim as a non steam game issue (Linux)
I'm not sure but it could be a 32/64 bit issue since 1.13 is 32 bit whereas the recent snapshots are 64 bit. So if steam is somehow using a library path that prevents it from finding the 64 bit OpenGL libraries you might get that.

The solution that i found is to run it in full screen mode, if i try to run windowed mode while launching through steam it reverts to llvmpipe, but in full screen it finds my gpu.
