What kind of graphics card would be best for me to get?

Post by mxflyin154 »

I didnt know if I should went to the suggestion section or what but I am really wanting to get me a graphics card so the game runs a little smoother and looks better. I was wondering what people run in their PC and what they would reccomend me getting and what prices they run. Thanks to all those that could help.

Also when I try to record using FRAPS my playback is kind of choppy which is what I want to negate. For example a video I made today for the first time.

65.99 for a 9500gt is a horrible deal. You can get a much better card than that.

For example.... THIS IS AN AWESOME DEAL.

Also, are you sure you have a PCI Express x16 video card slot? And what kind of power supply do you have?

thing you have to remember is that there is usually a sweetspot in price/quality when it commes to computer hardware.

so for example you can get more out of your money if you buy a good card for about 100 dollars, than if you buy a cheap card for 40 or 50.
prices plumet fairly fast in the first year the hardware is available, after that the reduction in price slows down considerably, untill the hardware just isn't available anymore which happens quite fast with graphics cards.

all depends on if you use your pc to play a lot of games or just MXS.
If you play MXS and nothing else then a 50 dollar card can probably run MXS fairly well.

Wow that is a great deal thanks for the help. I will have to make sure my little brother is the man at recognizing what I will be able to do with what I can get. He is really good with computers and I am just meh. I run my outlet through a surge protector. I am not sure what the Power Supply chord is. I am running this off a Dell 5150 Pentium 4 I got like 5 years ago.

Power supply is in you PC its the back top where your plug starts and runs by Watts and like shack said you need to be PCI express compatible from your motherboard and with the power supply lots of cards take a certian amount over power to run.

Actually it's a terrible deal. Anything involving an ATI card is a terrible deal.

I just got an Nvidia GTS 450. I run at a constant 125fps. It isn't the best card out there, but it works great for MXS and any other game I've thrown at it.

If ya got the money, and are big into gaming get what I got of course all depends on ur case I think , and other hardware but the nvidia gtx dual 5803GB . It can literally run ANY game out at full graphics with perfect fps. The price tag is a bit steep tho. Shack might be able to sort out a good deal from somewhere, I heard he is the best to go to for building ur pc for the cheapest,

Might have helped me before I spent 2700 on a gaming pc ( cyberpower pc black pearl ). So IMO if shack recommends it I'd go with it personally

I just want something decent enough to run MXS really decent looking. I got a good bit of lag online. I barely have alot of time for gaming anymore. MXS is the only game I play since my 2 year old son jammed 5 disc in my PS3 and burnt out the motor. I used to play MCM alot back in the day on MSN gaming zone. Now all I do is work, play guitar, and MXS. Had to give up racing after the kid came in the world. All I want is something good to run MXS smoothe and affordable.
