Help?!?!?

hey guys im new to the game, and i just have some questions about downlaoding new content,
first i have downloaded a few new tracks but the only tracks i can downlaod are from compressed files, if there not then i cant play them.
also i made a file just for mxs but the only files i seem to have are tracks, so i can drag the new tracks in this file and play them, but there are no files for bikes,gear,skins etc.
another thing, i havent purchesed a controller yet, but ive been playing for a solid week and cant get the settings down pat, any suggestions?
also if arcade physics are off theres no way i stay on the bike
