Stopping Gate Jumping
JLV had already stated this, but there should be a way to stop cheaters who gate jump. This isn't a problem anywere else, but this should be taken care of on the public servers. There should be a setting that puts an invisible barrier ontop of it. It will disappear when the gate drops. This setting can always be turned off in your own server, or in your own games.

Re: Stopping Gate Jumping
Jumping the gate can happen in real life, and thus should be left. However, you should be penalized for it, whether it be docked time or maybe even docked 1 lap.

Re: Stopping Gate Jumping
I would suggest if they jump the gate, and get within 10 feet away, they should automatically be replaced back to the start. But it may be difficult to make it happen

Re: Stopping Gate Jumping
i like this idea. that way if you do jump it, then you have almost no chances of winning. because if you did it in real life, youd probably be dq'd.. (not really sure about the rules of it.)ShackAttack12 wrote:Jumping the gate can happen in real life, and thus should be left. I think your rider should catch on fire and scream in pain, and the old dude that waves the checkered flag runs over and pees on you to put the fire out. then you have to wait for the next race...

Re: Stopping Gate Jumping
At a low budget local track, they used to do starts with a huge rubber band. You'd ride your front wheel up until it touched the rubber band. Then they'd let the rubber band snap to start the race.
If you jumped they start, they'd do a restart - and make you turn your bike around and face the opposite direction
That's what should happen to gate jumpers - replace them at the start gate, turned 180 degrees!

Re: Stopping Gate Jumping
OFF TOPIC:
At one of the races I was in this year we had a split gate and apparently this guy didnt realize it because he left with the first gate drop. Then half way down the start straight, he stopped, turned around, and came back to the gate. The gate guy waited for him while the rest of us sat on the line roasting our clutches...
Worse yet, he did it in the second moto and still saw no penalty
Needless to say, those track officials are not on my Christmas list.
ON TOPIC:
I say a 1 lap penalty would suffice for hopping the gate. J-LAW got DQ'd when he did it last year
Unfortunately, sometimes when we restart your throttle gets stuck open, and you hop the gate accidentally. I suppose its only a problem in major online races, which could be re-restarted to make sure nobody get improperly penalized.

Maybe set it so if you gate jump and ride out a cetain distance you get DQ'd and sent into warmup mode and have restart disabled for you until everyone else finishes.

I reckon if they get a certain distance from the gate before it drops, they should be launched into the air out of the map. Then DQ them.
