Optional add on parts
After reading the post by McNeil, and remembering that I brought up the idea of front disc guards in the past, I have decided to bring this subject up again. Maybe this time I could explain it better and people will understand what I am suggesting. Having the option to run and choose different hand guards and front disc covers in the bike set-up menu would be nice. If we could implement separate independent models for these things, "the same way a helmet is its own separate model" I think it would be a great addition to the game. The position and placement of these things shouldn't change from bike model to bike model. The position of the front disc cover will not change from bike to bike because the bikes all share the same wheel base. Also, the handlebar height is roughly the same also due to the standard rider position in game. I do not have the knowledge or modeling skills, or else I would do this myself.

Re: Optional add on parts
I think this would only be possible if each modeler made the separate parts fit to their model. Not all of the bike models have the same geometry, rotation, or placement of the lower fork object. Same goes for the bar areas.
Or, modelers could do just the opposite; remake their models according to these extra parts. But the problem with this is, it'll be hard to get one front disc cover that everyone will work with. Then when a new disc cover comes out, all of the models prior might not fit.
If we were working for Rainbow, and we have control over what skins/models were made, this would work great... But this game's models will always progress, and it will make this a mess in the long run. I think this would be awesome, I just think it'd be really hard to pull off.

I think that could probably work. Everything would just be named like the bike models. Name it something like "kx250f_handguards-Acerbis.jm". If modelers weren't too bothered by it, I think it would work.Mona wrote:I think this would only be possible if each modeler made the separate parts fit to their model.
