250f engine breaking.

You reminded me of this kid in high school, we had to do a 10 minute presentation in front of the class and he did his on Darth Sidous. Was one of the most awkward things I've ever seen.

Felt sorry for the poor kid...the class was just making fun of him the whole time. I did mine on String Theory though, so who is the bigger nerd? You be the judge.

getting this back on topic... the only way to fix the 250f's engine breaking is by turning it into a 2-stroke. but then its not a lights bike. In actuallity, 250f's have a good ammount of engine breaking. the game has a little bit to much compared to an actual 250f if you ask me. but hey, cant be perfect.

Engine 'braking' in a gasoline engine is due to the energy requirted to pull the pistons down through the intake stroke against a closed Throttle. With that statment there are alot of factors that contribute to that, valve lap, compression, stroke ect.
With the 250f and 450f from the same manufacturer nearly being the same design three things stand out to me. Stroke, compression and displacement.
450f's have a longer stroke, less compression and larger displacement than a 250f, this creates a higher vacume under a closed throttle. Which means it takes more energy to pull the piston down... more engine braking.
250f's are opposite. Higher compression, shorter stroke and less displacment...less engine braking than a 450.

Unfortunately I cannot find dynos on this anywhere.

But being a rider of both a 250f and 450f (both kawi btw) the 450 to me has far more engine braking than the 250. Anyone else here ride both? Maybe im just crazy haha.

lol nice to see some1 who knows what they are talking about. I actually always felt like 250fs had more engine breaking, and i always assumed so because they had more compression. Now that being said a few things are kind of against me, 1 im a two stroke guy. so i never owned a racing 4-stroke for long (had my run on an 04 crf250 though) 2 (this might be what your doing) with the 250f, because they seem to have this perfect feel of power, its easy to just stay on the gas slightly for most of the time OR to be riding the clutch like you would on a 125. 3rd reason, ive never ridden any 250f 08 or newer. the newest 450 ive ridden was an 09 yz450f. but was very timmid and actually never got into the high rpm's (i was lazy lol). that being said. still think the engine breaking on the 250f's in game is a little intence compared to real life. however most of the other bikes i feel are very accurate so im not going to complain .
