Re: Please! Skin/Model system like LFS!
If the gear/bike skins would be stored centrally on a server, why not give every user an account connected to their uid# where they can upload their current online gear/bike and then put a restriction on how often the files could be changed. These files could then easily be synchronized with the files in a skins folder locally by the game as suggested earlier. I can't imagine that it would be hard to avoid the storing of duplicates on the server as long as the file names are identical...
I'm sure there's a way to avoid having to update these files locally every time you go online, maybe by having a file that link an uid# with a certain gear/bike so that you still see the old skins that are stored locally even if you haven't updated in a while.
I'm sorry if this was a bit incoherent, I'm really tired

I want to do it. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. I would probably make it offer to download the missing stuff after you disconnect so you can ignore it if you don't care about the skins.ddmx wrote:I'm pretty sure the reason this wasn't done when suggested before, is so that the people on dial-up internet didn't have to wait longer than a few days to download all the skins when connecting.

That's sounds like a good idea and it can always be edited after the first releasejlv wrote:I want to do it. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. Everyone has their opinion, but i would most definitely say this is the number 1 feature I'd like to see added to this game right now... yes, even before 450s.
