Re: Game Suggestions
Hey JLV , can you answer one question for me atleast one time in my life ? Lol no offense but I've asked a lot of questions in long of MXS life and you never reply em, it's ok. I don't care but could you asnwer this one?
Do you have plans for whenever you gonna re-make the collision stuffs? moveable collisions and something that we can ride like FMX ramps

Re: Game Suggestions
It's not deliberate. The stuff in this thread goes by too fast for me to answer it all.
I won't put in mesh based collisions until after the pixel shaders are done.

Re: Game Suggestions
Wikipedia - The universes source of all information wrote:A pixel shader is a computation kernel function that computes color and other attributes of each pixel. Pixel shaders range from always outputting the same color, to applying a lighting value, to doing bump mapping, shadows, specular highlights, translucency and other phenomena. They can alter the depth of the pixel (for Z-buffering), or output more than one color if multiple render targets are active. A pixel shader alone cannot produce very complex effects, because it operates only on a single pixel, without knowledge of a scene's geometry or of neighboring pixels.

Re: Game Suggestions
I was just reading the upcoming skins and models thread and figured I'd put this in too. I agree with who ever has said we need more gear options. Gloves should be one; jerseys, and pants could go in another; leatt brace on/off option that when its on another menu bar pops up with what graphics; and boot should be the last. In time it would be awesome if we had a 3d render of the rider (like mva) where you'd pick the gear and see it on the rider. Another suggestion would be a 3D view in the editor so instead of looking straight down on the track you could scope around like in L3DT and see how your terrain is forming. Also have a live update buttom so you can save the .png in PS, click the live update or update map button, and viola! That way the process of track creating won't be so long and tedious.
AND TEAR OFFS!!!! =)
But besides that, JLV you are the MX gaming god!!! thank you for creating such a nasty game! keep up the great work!

Go playback and use the free roam camera to put the camera where you want it. Then just flick to it anytime you want to checkiceman967 wrote:Another suggestion would be a 3D view in the editor so instead of looking straight down on the track you could scope around like in L3DT and see how your terrain is forming.
This is would be so much better!!!iceman967 wrote: Also have a live update buttom so you can save the .png in PS, click the live update or update map button, and viola! That way the process of track creating won't be so long and tedious.

I know you have seen me do it, but to anyone else, what I do is when im making my disp map I put a $ out the front of the track folder. That way it is at the very top of the list.
*Important*
This is only for the displacement map, DO NOT do this when you start to place textures etc...
Totally agreeiceman967 wrote:JLV you are the MX gaming god!!!

Re: Game Suggestions
one litle thing. I don't know if it has been mentioned before.
when i crash in front of a jump the yellow flag guy on the jump in front of me starts waving his flag. this doesn't make sense and is also confusing, cause it then seems as if there is another person down on the other side of the jump. not a big problem but it's just something i noticed.

Re: Game Suggestions
While i agree that an update button for the disp is important, i see a problem with this. If you have the game open and try to save a new terrain.png you get an error message that says "cannot save because the file is in use by another program", or something to that effect.yomo wrote:I know you have seen me do it, but to anyone else, what I do is when im making my disp map I put a $ out the front of the track folder. As for the money sign thing, if you do that so you can easily find your track folder in the personal folder, just create a shortcut to the track folder on your desktop. If you do that so it is easy to jump straight into the track in game, i guess thats the best way. Unless of course you could change the default track in the config file or something.
I dont know about you but i dont really race on rabbit hill all that much. So is it possible to change the default track that pops up when you click new race?

Re: Game Suggestions
I don't know how feasible or necessary this is but I thought it might look cool. With the new tileinfo, if you could set some sort of flexibility with the ground collision. Say for example you were trying to simulate mud, you might be able to make it so the ground collision was a little lower than usual giving the effect that the knobbles are digging down into the soft mud a little bit.
As I said I don't know if this is possible or even if it would be particularly noticeable.

Nah, I do this so it is at the very top of the ingame track list.wheels1758 wrote: As for the money sign thing, if you do that so you can easily find your track folder in the personal folder
Also I then set an action button in photoshop to replace the terrain.png so i can basically make a change in about 3-4 mouse clicks
