Engine Sound

Post by Cooter181 »

I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned at some point, but, I'm gonna go ahead and mention it again. I really wish you'd create a way for us to control the sound level of our bikes vs. the sound level of other bikes in races. It has been extremely frustrating for me during this SX season not being able to hear my own engine in a race, all I can hear is random motor noises all over the place. My suggestion would be that it functions somewhat like the ghost fade distance, meaning that it's user definable according to your likings of how loud you want bikes to be by how far away from you they are. Please make this happen JLV, it's something that should be in the game in my opinion. Thanks!

P.S. Can we get those 3rd person cam settings soon as well? :D

At the very least, make the other bikes quieter for the first 15 seconds after the gate drops. Without being able to feel the bike, the sound is really our own major indication of acceleration

I wish that would solve it for me DJ, but I can't hear my bike for shit the entire race. Maybe, at the very least, make the users bike always double the sound of another riders bike, that may do it. I just suggested it to be user definable because I'm sure some people would like to mute every other bike but theirs.

i'd rather have a new sound for the 250f's, something more along the line of the 450's sound but pitched just a little different

No, you're right it wouldn't. But i figured I'd throw my 2 cents in here,(this topic) rather than starting a new Engine sounds topic is all.

I don't want to make the other bikes silent. Have you ever raced some MASS-START race (something with more than 30 guys at once)?? The sound isn't all. You really have to feel the speed. Getting that feel is a lot worse when there's no object around the track but on supercross track you have some references (tuff blocks)

I'd like to have better sounds for bikes (they don't sound right)

Die996. The whole point is that we have no reference what so ever at the current state of the game. If we cant hear the bikes, we don't know how much were accelerating/hooking up. I don't know about you, but in real life, I can FEEL that. How do you FEEL through a controller?

With true mass-starts (sometimes over 100 riders) you don't hear your own thing at all, specially if all non-pro classes are mixed and you're riding a fucking 80cc 2-stroke. Vision is your friend then, use tuff blocks and so to guess your speed

Yes, because as everyone knows there are 100 riders on Supercross gates. Oh and nice suggestion. I guess the multiple guys here who have played for years never realized that haybales could show you optimal shifting points.

Yes. I don't agree that in the real world it's easy to hear your own bike during a start though.
