Roost improvement

As I know that Jlv is busy, I think this would be a pretty cool cosmetic update.
My idea is simply tear-offs, probably suggested before... but still.
If you get behind someone, your lens gets dirty and the player would have to press a button to tear it off..
May be a stupid Idea, but meh.. Hehe

and it should lower the stability while he's doing it cause he's only using 1 hand

mxs already uses more buttons than most games, I dont really want another one to press. Also the game is hard enough as it is without the addition of not being able to see where you are going and then having to press an extra button whilst experiencing reduced stability.

it sounds like a good idea, but i think it will get overly annoying. you would run out of tear offs and be fugged. you cant duck your head like in real life to avoid roost.

Maybe I'll make it mouse based. You have to wipe the screen off with the mouse pointer and it won't be possible to bind it to another axis...

My plan for when it was implemented was the space bar. I am using every button possible on my controller so taking my hand off would be cool.

This is the reason my friend absolutely will not play this game :D Says there's WAY to many buttons to press at once

I was planning to wire in a button on some glasses to pull a tear off...

Ive always thought about this in games like Mx VS Atv and such. where you could have either roll offs with about 20 or tear offs with about 10. but Roll offs dont cover the whole screen. And depending on the roost you have to pull them and it would really change it up in outdoors with what people run and line choices in battles because if you ran right behind someone on a mud track you wouldnt be able to see and wad it. Once you run out of tearoff's your fucked.

didn't want to make another thread but how about a Color Chat in game that runs off scripts ? Would be great to catch important messages/talks real quick. Could even add a highlighted name server name sort of like a ready button only visible in server menu. Basically if you were set you can its ESC and click ready and your name would go green in that menu only, It would give a quick view to verify for administration to verify the race is ready. Could be put to good use for upcoming events.

Red- Administration (series host) - announcements/heats
Green- Riders in current/upcoming race. People who are important.
White - Spectators aka non important people

Something like this would require the roost to be always on though, with a constant amount of roost particles.

This will be pretty sweet, in real life it is pretty difficult to do it on a straight, i can barely do it. but on a jump i think you have enough time to press a button, im playing with keyboard, for the real pro's  , and i have enough buttons to use, but this will not be a problem :D For players with a controller. maybe the its posssible to press the stick to pull a tear off? Or are you guys using it for sit/dab or something? Would be cool to have a maximum of tear offs to use, just suggesting

And, thanks jlv!

More like roll offs have 200.

Anyway this is still a really bad idea. How would it even work for 3rd person. I never play with roost on to try and minimise lag so as DJ said it wouldnt work then.

While we're at it Jlv could add monster trucks aswell and then have windscreen wipers to get rid of all the mud on the windscreen

even with roost particles off you could still have dirt/sand/mud get on your goggles.

so youre saying by adding something realistic, you want to make the joke of adding monster trucks? thats cool...meh...
Could still work in 3rd person. and most rollofs come with 30-40 not 200...
