(may have been posted) Active rider controls
hey i searched google and a some of the suggestions thread for this topic before posting. (so dont bag on me
) anyways, i think the 1st person view should have the rider actually twisting the throttle and the using the clutch. also front brake and foot controls would be nice, but at least throttle and clutch, especially for the sake of the people who post on youtube. it would make the game seem even more realistic, and make the videos more professional looking. i wouldnt know what goes into doing this of course, but taking into account of how far this game has come, i'd have guess it could be done. id really enjoy to see this on the next update, and i feel like the 1st person riders and film makers for mx sim would too. i thinks it's hard to believe that this wouldnt have been posted sooner, being that it is a little bit ditracting, and like i said i looked briefly before posting, so if this has been posted, i apologize, and hopefully this will be considered (or reconsidered if its already been posted) thanks

it has one major problem, the levers/throttle is all part of one model part, which means it doesn't have its own control points, so jlv will have to change the whole bike "structure" for that, and all the current model will not work anyway. Same for the rider, his forarm and fingers are controlled by one bone, which doesn't allow fingers/wrist movement.
it will be nice for sure, but it will not happen imo

thanks p2sta, at least now i know the chances of it actually happening now, which aren't very good, and from someone who would definitely know, it makes sense now. would still be sick tho....p2sta wrote:it has one major problem, the levers/throttle is all part of one model part, which means it doesn't have its own control points, so jlv will have to change the whole bike "structure" for that, and all the current model will not work anyway. To be honest when you think about it. It would be way too hard to be done right. The animations for twisting the throttle, I mean.
When you get on the gas you don't go gooner and end up with your elbows down all the time do you? You adjust your hand in preparation for whatever you're doing to be able to give the right amount of throttle and maintain elbows up posture. The only time you ever see riders really pin it like that are on flat straights after cornering. Most the time you'd never know they were twisting unless you were just staring at their wrists.
I think the idea is cool to say the least but I don't think mxs is quite there yet to be worried about first person animations.

yea, i was thinking more or less about mx vs atv reflex and alive, i meant something similar to their throttle controls, but now i know how unlikely it is to be done. like everyone said, it would still be nice to have....Uollie wrote:To be honest when you think about it.
