Lapper Blue Bar - 1.5 and under

Post by Mikey »

Can it flash in and out so it grabs their attention with 1.5 and under....

It's an absolute disgrace.

Shacks idea!

I don't look at it until it's under 1.0.

Wait, if you don't look at it until it's 1.0, then how do you know weather it is under 1.0 or not?

In my experience anything within 1.0 you need to be getting out of the way quick. 1.5 seems like a good time to start warning the rider ahead that in a few corners be prepared to yield.

Sorry, I meant to say I don't do anything about it till 1.0. I don't pull over either I just hold my line (usually on the opposite side of the track that I think they will be on) and go just a little bit slower. If they are lapping me because they are faster and I go a little bit slower then they should get around me no problem. If not then that's there fault. Also, if someone laps me and then falls in front of me I will usually let them back by but if they fall again after that I probably won't slow down at all to let them by because they obviously shouldn't be in front of me anyways. :D

On a semi-related note, I've been wondering what the 1:00 and under people really want from slower riders when the lapper flag comes out.

Would most of you prefer us to ride a line along one side of the track, next to the bales and jump a slower rhythm, or slow down and let you jump over us on a triple/finishline jump, or stand up in a corner, or putt-putt around the inside of a corner?

I try different ways to let leaders by, but usually I end up punted to 'row F' no matter what I do.

It depends who is lapping you and when they are lapping you.

During qualifying some people think they own the track. Those people you'll never please. During rF events I would prefer taking a slow line down the non preferred side of a rhythm lane, or on the start straight. Corners are sketchy and sometimes I want to use all of the berm, so if someone is at the top of it it screws up your lap.

Trent did say it best though. With some people it doesn't matter, they're just looking for someone to yell at.

Or even just make it turn from blue to red when the leader(s) is/are lapping you

If the problem gets really bad and drastic measures are taken, jlv could have their engine lose power and make them turn off of the track lol. bad idea for the most part, but may work in some situations

It's a bit hard for a beginner to follow the whole situation, the flag, the track map, and listen the lapping bike sounds as you can't see what line is going to be used. Yesterday I had some problems with that in a random race in Seattle. The fastest guys are coming so aggressively and close in the corner that I couldn't really react to it, since the bike isn't so well under control in low speed when cornering.
It could be easier to be the fastest guy.

The color change would help maybe. Mx is so physical sport and in the game you can't feel, see, hear anything like in real life. So we must "cheat" a little bit.
