Turning in slow speed

Post by metzger »

Make possible to turn with very low speed, when you don't need to lean the bike but just to turn the handle bar in the direction you want to turn.

I agree 100%, this might also help after the first turn mayhem in big events. If the ability to navigate at very slow speeds was dramatically increased like in real life, I probably would only rage about 50% as much as I do now! Hell, I'd buy another copy of the game for that JLV ;)

Please JVL fix it:) It's very annoying when it's trying to do counter steering whit 10km/h it is impossible :) and the rider could use his legs more efficiently when he is running very slow.

Bump. This caused one friend to quit and two others refuse to buy the game because of this.

Its really not that bad, only time it gets me is when I am in a weird spot on a hill or something.

You guys could just crank up the slow damping factor a bunch and lower the speed way down but it may have consequences while racing when you make your turn off a berm if you dont get the speed slow enough.

Try 10 on both settings, stable right when you get going but should not effect you riding.

Band aids aren't really the point of this suggestion. The idea is to actually fix the underlying problem. If slow speed riding were this dangerous irl, none of us would still be riding.

You get used to it. JLV does that so whips are made realistic. I don't think that can be changed unless you want your whips turning into scrubs.

The real steering is what makes it fun. I do agree that the stabilizer can be improved more.

I think it has more to do with the fact that people don't counter steer under 5mph, you steer into the turn.

Also, the rider does not attempt to stabilize with their feet at such low speeds. In game you simply fall over when in reality you would just put your foot down.

these issues get compounded when you are on a slope at low speeds.

Sorry for double post but I want to explain what I said about slopes compounding the issue.

Let's say you just crashed on an up hill section of the track. When you pick up yourbike you get pointed towards the center of the track which sometimes happens.

So here you are at a stand still, facing perpendicular to the track on a hill. Let's say you need to turn left and go up the hill to continue your race.

You move the joystick left and give it some gas. Your rider leans left but turns the bars to the right.

Physics didn't like this because your tires and gravity want you to go right and down the hill, but.since your leaning left, against the other two sources, you fall over because leaning far enough over to counter those forces is impossible in the current state unless you already have momentum in the direction you wanted to go .

Hope i've helped explain that. In real life, you would simply turn and lean left atty the same time

That's false. You're right about the feet though. Making the dabbing coordinate better with the stabilizer is something I'll definitely do.
