Could there be servers made for just riding no racing? I know that is for single player, but what if you don't want to have to EVERYBODY your server ip and just ride with stangers? Just like going out to a track and ripping it up.

Yeah theres a few of us that run private servers or you could make you own and invite people?

Ok, but if they are private servers then how can others ride on it?

Yeah i know that, but how does others get the ip? Why cant they just make like 3 servers on the actual servers list? Just like normal, but u just ride like u spawn in the pits when u connect. Then just ride out on the track and ride!!

I wonder if it's possible for JLV to implement something where you add it to a track in a server and it sends it to a mode where there isn't a warmup and everyone spawns in player mode. Like how it is with addtrack instead of "server,addtrack minutes laps timeout trackinfo.trackinfo" you could make it "server,addtrack freeride timeout trackinfo.trackinfo" where it sets it as freeride (spawn in player mode) but still has a timeout so the track won't stay forever unless you want it too. It would be something cool to implement in my seeded qualifying server, because everyone would *hopefully* be sensible enough to not ride like a moron but not have to wait for a restart to ride and qualify.

The timing would be a mess. Much easier with well defined races instead of an infinite session.

The timing gates would be an issue, but something like sandy free ride hits and pretty much do 20 minutes max + certain amount of restarts etc, would be cool.

Because when there's no laps your lap time isn't counted.

understandable, but it wouldnt be that hard to implement a timer for that certain type of game play.

We've got JLV saying it' would be a mess, and you saying it's not hard to implement. So, since you're amazing at everything, please do it. Until you've figured it out, don't post again.

JLV, isn't there a "punting" server or something that nobody uses...04? Why don't we load 04 up with a bunch of Free Ride areas....I'd be on there all day!

Or a fatal error track. That'd be interesting. A bunch of permabanned people crashing each others games
