If the clutch is detected by the game to be a button rather than something with analog capability, perhaps there could be something implemented that simulates a more gradual release of the clutch rather than "CLUTCH ON, CLUTCH OFF".
You might say, change the clutch to something analog, but there is only so much room on a controller, and in my controller setup, the clutch got screwed out of an analog stick or trigger.
Valid suggestion?

Re: Clutch Dampener
It already does that. It takes 1/4 second for the clutch to fully release. It might be reasonable to make it adjustable.

Josh, if the clutch were hooked up to something analog such as a trigger, analog stick, or even a clutch lever on doubledragon's bike controller contraption he has, would it be able to give the feel of the bike gradually creeping when the clutch is almost fully engaged but isn't quite, like on a start when you have the motor loaded while still being in place?

Hmm. Didn't know that. But I do think some adjustability would be good. Comparing to real life, I feel like 1/4 second is a little quick for me, for sure.

Am I the only one that loves that feeling, the anticipation of the gate and the feel of the bike xD.bdownen323 wrote:Like on a start when you have the motor loaded while still being in place?

It should already do that. Might have to turn off auto dab for it to creep.bdownen323 wrote:Josh, if the clutch were hooked up to something analog such as a trigger, analog stick, or even a clutch lever on doubledragon's bike controller contraption he has, would it be able to give the feel of the bike gradually creeping when the clutch is almost fully engaged but isn't quite, like on a start when you have the motor loaded while still being in place?

Holy shit that's a great idea. And option to have it disengage slower so even if its on a button not just off/on instantly, would be sweet. Or else you'd need to run clutch on an analog part of the controller

Re: Clutch Dampener
Yeah, the game GP Bikes has this concept done pretty well. Every setting is pretty much adjustable with a bit of damping including throttle, throttle rolloff, clutch, rear brake, front brake, rider movements side to side and front to back.
Theres literally just a slider for the specific setting you want to modify. On GP Bikes for example, my clutch and rear brake are buttons, so I played with the dampening until the applied clutch/braking force increased/diminished at the exact rate I wanted it to. Pretty awesome since it allowed me to ride the rear brake much harder and easier without worrying about the rear end wanting to punch my face.
Theres even a neat little display bar that shows you how fast pressure is being applied or lost so you can actually visually make corrections to your liking.
