Could it be added where we can force numbers for people that are running events?
e.g people have national numbers and they are forced to run those then anyone that hasn't got a national number can choose their number through racefactorygaming.com or mxscentral.com when they signup or throughout the season and if it doesn't conflict with another rider they get that number locked on the site and in the race servers for those events? Or season if it's AMA of world GP's?
Just a thought but it would prevent & save time for hosts especially when people run the same number and admins need to go through protests? I remember a little while ago, I have 4 people with the same number in a race and some of those people were on the same bike too (makes it very difficult).
Would it also be possible to save rider names to the demo's as well?
Thanks for reading.

Rider names/numbers are saved in the demo. You have to open it with notepad++(or other text editor) and you can see the names of each rider at the top.
As far as numbers:
Sween kept trying to get me to write a script that would inform people if they were running the wrong name/number (based on the listplayers). I never really got around to it. But you COULD do that, then kick the ones that don't match (via script of course, for us lazy folk).

The next server will let you force names. I didn't realize forcing numbers would be useful.

Re: Forced numbers within events
@Wheels, I was planning on writing one but I haven't yet so that way I can force their numbers for the race. Less hassle than kicking people and the responses I would get for it. I did think about writing a script that would populate and then display the list of people with the wrong numbers as a broadcast message and tell them they have 1 minute to change their number, and if on the restart their number hasn't changed then they are kicked before the race.
@jlv, I think it would be beneficial as it would cause less confusion and look better ingame stopping people running no number or having 4 or 5 with the same number.
Thanks to both of you for replying.

It just helps add integrity to the number system, rewarding those who do well with a low number. It usually isn't a problem til the end of the season, then people seem to do whatever with their names/numbers hahajlv wrote:The next server will let you force names. Sadly, the reason I added it was to stop people who use profanity and racial slurs in their names. Wasn't thinking about earned numbers.

For names, that is one of the reasons we changed to first/last names as well! Numbers isn't as big of a deal for sure, so don't sweat too hard to add that too loljlv wrote:Sadly, the reason I added it was to stop people who use profanity and racial slurs in their names. I agree if its a big deal don't worry, just thought it could be good to force numbers before a race or something like that. Assuming we could force someone's name before a race restart in the new version?

Re: Forced numbers within events
I did it as a modified ban. The ban syntax is like this now:
ban <UID> [minutes] [reason]
Normally, the banned player sees the reason after they're kicked out. But if the reason is (mute) or (name=John Doe), it'll mute them or force their name instead of banning them.
