Weighted/moveable objects.
Ok yes moveable objects was sugested. But how about if you could controle the weight and movement in game. Or possible in the Line code in Notepad++. If the object is heavy it would move very little or just not at all. If the object is light it will move very easily. But to controle how far an object can travel you could have it so you can adjust a radius on an object and tat set radius is as far as it can be moved. Not sure if I had explained that clear enough but I feel it would make the game a bit more real and help with some of these pain in the a** tough blocks and spongebobs as well.

Have issues with hitting tuff blocks? Allow them to move into the lanes so they aren't in your off-track line!

It could be done without much trouble but I don't want to waste the bandwidth on sending the current hay bale positions to all the clients.
