Mx simulator marketplace

Post by staydown »

Just an idea......, I will probably get some flack for this. What about implementing an online marketplace where creators can list their creations (ie. tracks, skins, models) for a small fee of say $0.99. As long as the content doesn't contain a company's logo it wouldn't conflict with copyright issues. A percentage of the sale would go to JLV because he is the creator of the game, and a percentage would go to the objects creator. I think this would generate a great amount of additional capital for JLV to further the game , and it would motivate creators to push the limits and get a reward for their efforts. I know that other games have done this before. The only income JLV gets from this game is the initial purchase.

one person would buy it, then they would upload it to mediafire and the whole world would have it.

As far as the organized races go, you could have it based off of uid. if they bought the track they can sign up for the race.

That's it man... like that we all will need to get the track for racing, and so if we haven't paid it we aren't allowed to sign up. Never thought of that Tyler, I like that idea.
And as staydown said, creators will push the limits to make a lot better things, and put more effort into it i guess.

Srry for dp, but an other idea, would be to Pay X to sign up for the entire series, for example 5 euros, and so if there are 100 signups you have 500 euros, that you divide it for creators, the host of the series, and jlv. Even you can put a very few amount of money for prizing the riders, but i still thinking to give prizes to riders is unnecesary, as they don't anything, i mean like creators, hosters should get money before riders do... Am i right?

I've always like the Series Sighnup cost idea. I'd be more than happy to pay $5-$10 to race a series.

Yeah in the case that they have to pay some few amount of money, it would be cool and something that can motivate you. But not as it is now... that they get money with out doing anything (I know it's not easy to be on top as they are, but they aren't giving their time for others, that's what i mean with that) And i think that 5 euros for example to join a series... isn't that much, as you have livestreams, a new track for each round and you have 17 rounds or so... i think that's fair. The problem is, how will "kids" pay it? Because i understand they don't get access to their parents cards, so that will be a HUGE problem... otherwise there will be no ragekids racing  hehe

what if we do what sim pits does with their point system? you pay *# of points* to race, and if we do good, you get paid, and say you're on a team, the team can pay you also

I don't mind paying to race but normally when I hear that we are paying to a pot that goes into prizes as a slower guy this is normally not something I'd get into. If we could have a money series that goes to creators I would be fine with doing so. This could help with many aspects such as having better tracks that could be released as a pack once the series is over, signing into a waiver that says "If I ride like an idiot I agree to be kicked from the series" or something along the lines to help make racing fun again. I'm not completely against prizes though but maybe make them something so outrageous like helmets or gear sets because thats when people try hard and ride barbaric for free things. Keep it simple with something like gift cards or stickers or even that rF hat that MO made.

if we paid for a race series it could almost be like a lottery ;D some of the money can go to the final series results. 1st gets 50$ 2nd gets $20 3rd gets $10 ;D

I like the lottery idea. as Puma said us slow guys are selfish and don't want to give faster guys money for winning. It would be nice to have spot prizes etc. We have stuff like that at all our Nationals.

Yea, we have prizes/trophies for the top 3 of every class and then everyone who entered the event gets put into a random draw for spot prizes. Theres an event down south I used to go to and there was like 350 entries and almost half the people got a spot prize, something like this would make it much more rewarding to race rF events. Because right now Im just in it to race 20-40 people at once, I have no realistic hope of getting a top 3 in a main event or series. If this was implemented I would be more than happy to pay $10-$20 to race a series.
