Remove pitboard/mini map

Post by Mikey »

Remove the pit board, and so it only shows during the set timing gates which would be the mechanics area.
Remove the mini map and it's dots.

I guess these would be only for comp racing but it would be cool and relatively easy to do?

I agree however do see a problem with removing the map and dots. The map and rider dots do come in handy if you need to re-enter the track, even if it seems as though people dont check the map when they need to re-enter. That's about the only time I check the map. I'm %100 for the pit board idea though.

Unless you add IR tracking or head movement then I'm with Gideon.

lol. What was I thinking starting this on first person? I must have been confused. I should have realized it was a simulator and learned in 3rd person.
Kinda like I would irl anyways.

I was just thinking the same thing. Figured I would do the whole "--hidden-hud" thing but didn't realize it got rid of chat and race results. My resolution was to put a sticky note over my pitboard so in case I ever lead a race again I wont get nervous if I don't know I'm winning. Then I thought "What if I just made my pitboard flat black so I can't read the numbers." I don't have photoshop nor do I feel like downloading gimp so I haven't carried out that idea yet.

LOL. I dont know about that. I cant even make it around rabbit hill without crashing 20 times in 3rd person.

I kinda like having the pitboard all the time because it allows me to see where I'm gaining and losing time on any part of the track. I do kinda like this idea too, though. Maybe have an option for this?

That's all well and good for 00 and shit... But that's about it.

You can only be told once a lap in real life so it should be the same when we're racing rF.

I hate this idea honestly, I like knowing when I'm lapping someone vs passing them for position

yeah for about 2 seconds, but what happens when you get into major traffic at a section thats not near the mechanics area? Just guess and hope for the best?

Guess and hope for what exactly? Pitboard doesn't mark out where downed riders are........

You either know who the leader is or just find out like 20 seconds later.

If this were to happen, which I'm not against, side to side and look back cams need to be implemented first. You only get the pitboard once a lap IRL, but your head is on a friggin swivel all the time IRL, lol.
