Stopping Elitism Within the Community

Post by WellsMX524 »

This is an issue I see coming around all the time, and the recent personal attacks last night have really brought this to my attention.
There should be more moderation during races/on these forums. The bullying and personal attacks within races are getting old. It's mainly coming from certain people who think that they're entitled to some sort of special treatment. The gang mentality that this community imposes on the younger, easily moldable minds is disgusting. Quite frankly, I'm tired of seeing it.

The lack of moderation is a huge thing. There are all of these EMF races being hosted, and in 03, and you just check chat and people are non-stop being bullied. Myself included, and I'm sick of it. People dig into my personal life and use it against me, and the next thing you know, 10+ people have jumped on the bandwagon to try to look cool, when they have absolutely no idea what's going on in my life. It's appalling how this is allowed. But because these people have somehow established themselves within this community, no one is going to bat an eye at the things they say because of the gang mentality and they fear that their reputation is going to take a nosedive for standing up for someone. In case everyone here forgot, motocross is indeed, a family sport.

Not just myself being attacked, but other people as well because they're "not as cool" as some of the other people in the community. It's happening right here on the forums, right under your nose. Yet the only bannable offense around here is ripping someone else's work (or so I've seen).

I'm just saying, this can't be right for the younger members of the community, and I think something should be done about it, maybe more moderation and consequences for these people's actions, regardless of "who" they are. I have been apart of the MLG community for years, and I have never seen immaturity on this level; ever. And that's saying something.

Anywho, that's my two cents. I'm sure people are going to say things along the lines of "you brought it upon yourself", or "you argued back", but let's be honest here. Have a couple kids, and then when someone talks about them, tell me your blood doesn't boil.

This is what I'm talking about. You guys push people to the point of saying those things. It's ludicrous. I'm not sorry that I said that, you're not going to get an apology out of me. When you're insulting my family left and right, and telling me to hang myself, expect some retaliation. It's the gang mentality that I'm talking about. If you back someone into a corner and expect them to be the bigger person and walk away, you're delusional.

Short fused reactions like that are why you get attacked, your just feeding the trolls. Besides, isn't telling someone to go kill themselves just a low as them saying it to you? Being older as yourself, I would expect that you had a higher majurity level, and would just let things go, it's the internet who gives a shit what people say.

See, you're missing the whole timeline, because that was said well after the initial bullying began. And age has nothing to do about it. Here's an experiment: Go up to someone walking with their kids in public and tell them that they're a shitty, worthless father, and don't deserve to have his kids, and let me know how that works out for you. Also, when you back someone into a corner, expect a response. Atsy told me to hang myself because everyone else was attacking me, he just hopped on the bandwagon, which seems to be a trending thing.

Words are words, internet or in reality. They all hurt, regardless. Just because you say something over the internet, doesn't mean it's dismissed because it's been said over the internet. If that were the case, the FBI wouldn't be arresting people for saying that they're going to assassinate our president.

Like I said it's the internet, I'm not saying it's dismissed but who cares what some kids that don't even know you, or even live in the same continent of you say? You can take people's words how you wish I guess, the more you let it get to you the more you get trolled. If you don't respond it will stop.

And you know, it wouldn't be a problem if people weren't personally attacking my family, but unfortunately it is, and they are. Trolling is just a facade for the underlying problem, which is in fact, bullying.

I think we should all just stop with all this shit. People should stop the personal attacks, everything. It's fucking childish. Honestly, what are we, in middle school? People don't like people, I get it, but that does't mean they should go on a mission to make their life hell.

Like I said, this post is about bullying. This is exactly what I'm talking about with what o'hagan and everyone else who dogpiles on. You guys are proving my point further. Here's an example. Kid gets made fun of at school for standing up for his opinion, or being different than everyone else. Everyone hops in on making the kid a mediocrity. Kid gets metaphorically backed into a corner. Next day, school shooting from kid who was being bullied. It's the same message.

I'll get over you guys talking about my daughters. At the end of the day, I know that none of you have a clue what is going on in my life, and none of you know me.
What I'm trying to do is open people's eyes to the reality that this community embraces so much, and try to better things for the newer members of the community. The bullying has to stop. That's it. I'm sick of seeing other kids going through the same shit because they're not as cool, or as "OG" as other members in the community.

I guess I'm using the word "community" too loosely. The term "hierarchy" fits a little better.

I know what you are talking about. I am not saying any names but it happened to me. Someone told me they wanted to do something to my daughter and hopped she died. Uncalled for
