Next update ideas 1.0.1 or 1.9.1 whatever it will be called

Post by Evolution_MxDk113 »

Hey JLV I've been using track editor quite alot recently and a few update ideas popped into head,

-when placing billboards instead of the pointer, use a brush like the raise/lower tool one and it places billboards say with a distance of 1 apart from each other
and as much billboards that fit eg. small billboards may fit 100 into one brush size, and larger ones with the same distance setting will fit maybe 2 or 1 in the brush like a tree.
As this one would solve a quick fix to people making tracks with masses of billboards.

-when placing grass decals or track base decals a similar feature to the billboards idea could be used.

-a multiplayer in-game voice chat, (this one isn't that important to me, but would be cool) and also i would completely understand as it may take up server space on peoples servers
but i don't exactly know what i'm talking about with this idea.

the first two would save alot of time for track creators.

hopefully people stop having problems with their reg key and computers, and thanks JLV for taking the time to run a game, be customer support, and forum with a one man army (you)
THANK YOU <3 <3 <3 <3

This would be the worst thing ever. I don't want any 14 year old kids shouting that i suck and i should die. There could be a mute button but i would still hate it.

I think voice chat could be cool, especially positional like Arma mods have. It'd be nice to be able to yell "Inside!" at lappers on 03. I think it would make up for not being able to turn your head in first person.

I think it would be bearable if you could only hear about a five foot radius around you. And hopefully have it really quiet on the start.

yeah i think that sounds good but it would HAVE TO be a larger radius like 60feet about 20metres and yeah it would have to be quiet at the start.

Voice chat won´t work. And this is a simulator, only pitboard should be allowed ;)

Seriously, if you want a team-chat, download a program. I will always be on mute so it won´t matter to me, just and unnecessary function IMO :)

1. Less stability setup, let everyone be same.
2. Less work on those god damn models, more on the physics! It's not the graphics that is important in this game.
3. Rider physics!! We've been playing MXS with that same stud for 5 years now, nothing changed.
4: Rider/bike shadows
5: Someone with professional recording capabilities to record new bike sounds samples
6: Environment sounds (ie. crowd noise for wrecks and such)

I would have to disagree. Although I'll agree the physics are important, they work really well for now and are better than any mx game ever has been. They could use some adjustment and changes yes, but that's not what will sell the game. If the game still looked like rabbit hill on the stock bikes, I probably wouldn't even think about buying the game (no offense jlv). First impression means everything and if the game looks bad, then you will most likely think it plays bad.

Luckily we have user created content, but I feel as if we are almost at the limit of what we can do. I mean really, computers that can normally run some of the sickest next-gen games are stuttering sons a bitches at times with this game. I do understand though that jlv is only one person and those next gen games have teams of people. In my opinion, from a sales perspective this game needs to be better optimized, java scripting, multi core support, etc. Anything that can make the game run as smooth as possible and still look amazing.

From a coding perspective I have no idea how this could be done, maybe jlv could elaborate a little, as right now I'm just speculating I really don't know if it's possible with mxsim or not, but that is just what I think needs to be looked into a bit.

He posted the same list on MX-Bikes. I doubt hes being sarcastic.

People put to much thought into their setup and what it does to have a good one yet if Tysen was to give you his config file you still couldn't ride like he does (maybe you could if you compare last week, HEYO!). No telling how many times Shack would share his setup in xFire and I would end up going back to what I had because I couldn't ride the way he did. Mason covered models pretty well. Same as before for rider physics, JLV has said that any side lean messes with the gyro of the bike to much and I'm not entirely sure if MXB has a controllable side to side lean or it could be all visual, who knows. Sounds is a dead horse and has been for sometime, they could always be better but I by no means ever want to stop playing because the sounds make me quit. Shadows though, yeah I'd like to see those.

Well graphics definitely didn't stop me from playing MXS, when I had an old pc, like 10 years old, I had to play with stock bikes, default gears and even lowered graphics to shit. Still played in 03 and had a blast, with about 11 people, no more because of the lag lol.

I would love to see some adjustments to the physics.... MORE BALANCE... this would stop the crash chaos...

Agreed ...having the rider help soak up some of the bumps and jumps I <a class="ktg6us78hf8vdu7" href="javascript:void(0)">think</a> would help quite a bit..Also not having rider shadows yet is the one thing that surprises me..Ive stressed this in the past..
