Avalon Brush Enduro Survival Race

Post by Ddavis »

I want to hold a race on Avalon Brush Enduro, but where it doesn't lag in a server for everyone.

I think it would be really cool if there was qualifying (and in a dream world with no lag) have like 60 people or so race, and every 10 seconds have 10 riders go off the gate based on qualifying order. Make it 1 hour + 1 lap or something. Ultimate survival! Personally I think that'd just be so rad. I know for a fact my internet can't handle a server to hold more than a few riders, but if someone does have a server, make it happen! It would really show who has the best bike control and patience. Maybe with DJ's patience, have a version with less objects (less lag) for the race.. thoughts? ideas? anyone think of this/want to do this?

When DJ had his KOTM series and even Crow's Nest I thought it was sick. I'd love to some more.

I would just want everyone's computers to hold up so it wouldn't be a computer-crash-fest.

Make it happen! I have a new computer so I'd be in. Damn Avalon Brush One hour + 1 loop would be so sick! The results would be so thrown off.

It doesn't matter how big of a lead you have, some of the sections are so difficult that you can be stuck in one spot for like 5 minutes just like real life. I think it'd be exciting and fun. SX/MX/AX is fun but can get routine. I used to host races for MVA, I want to host races for Sim, I just need a server and need to know how to run commands/scripts.

Lets put together a Tuesday or Thursday night series or something. I really want to do this! If someone is willing to partner up with me maybe I can think of the format/tracks and you can provide the scripts/hosting/server. Honestly I don't think scripts are even important, sign up and be there at a certain time for "Will call" or whatever you want to call it and restart and race! The key is making the race long, that way it's a grueling survival race, and not a 5 minute sprint.

After talking to Tyler, we're thinking 20 minute + 1 lap amateur class and 1 hour + 1 lap pro class, prizes tba. We want to make this legit! He'll provide the server and I'll do the organizing. We want to make a sick event!

With ~12 minute laps? You're toying with likely being 30 minutes longer than the time period for the race! If someone crosses just before the hour mark, he has to do two more laps (at least 24 minutes) plus everyone else has to finish! You might want to just do a straight 1 hour moto (30 minutes for AM?).

It will not be Friday or Saturday night. I am thinking Tuesday or Thursday. Monday/Wednesday nights I have college classes.
