[Server side] Force Stock Phys and Suspension + Gearing
As the title says, What would the community say to having a server args setting to force stock settings? This would open the door to new classes at the event hosting level and allow for events like Lorettas to a actually have more emersion allowing for C-Stock, B-Stock and A-stock classes as well as Stock 2-stroke classes to be added.

What? Those are all things you can change for a stock class. Stock physics? What does that even mean?

I'm assuming you mean stability, that is just dumb IMO, the suspension and gearing I could see being used.

I think you have the wrong prefix there.Xtrem wrote:more emersion allowing for C-Stock, B-Stock and A-stock classes as well as Stock 2-stroke classes to be added.
I don't really think that a stock class would be all that fun, especially if suspension tuning were to be involved. The default suspension settings are OK with a 125 on stock tracks, but with any bike on any track that would be raced, things would get dumb, and as Mark said, stock class allows you to change suspension, as it is a safety thing. I could understand forcing everyone to ride a CR125 with super short gearing for fun, but gearing is hardly going to make a difference as big as that between a stock and mod bike.

I mean a server args or script setting that would reset your stability back to default when you entered the server and forced you to ride it as default... along with everyone else. I would think you of all people Phat would appreciate such an idea that would basicly level the playing field and gimp all the kids running 100/1000 steering and unrealistic vertical/forward spring settings. I'm assuming the person that said this idea is dumb is one such person running one such setup and would be frightened at the idea of having to ride with a setting that would actually slow him down. Obviously when you left the server or the script was changed, your game would revert back to your previous setup.Phathry25 wrote:What? Those are all things you can change for a stock class. We just don't want to ride with a shit setup because we would have to get used to that one, then, get used to our old one again.

There's better ways to skin that cat though. Like fixing/eliminating those exploits altogether. Being able to restrict some settings would be good fun, gearing, brakes for flat track, but it would only really be useful for fun races.Xtrem wrote: I mean a server args or script setting that would reset your stability back to default when you entered the server and forced you to ride it as default... along with everyone else. I don't think they're really exploits.

At the rate that little shit is pushing me I'll die with hundred's of cats. How long is this fight for dominance? I'm pretty sure I lost a long time ago but he is still coming at me.
