Time trial Improvement

I was on time trial this morning on a rather long track, convinced I was going to put down a decent lap. At the end it doesn't count. I assume this is because I missed a timing gate along the way. Would there be a way to notify that you missed one? So you could restart and not waste more time? If I'm wrong with the way the system works, then ignore this.

If you dont think you missed a timing gate, then you probably didnt. I know sometimes that laps dont overwrite the ghost sometimes, but show up on your pitboard. When this happens normally i have to restart sim and it works. If your lap isnt even showing up on the pitboard, then its timing gates. Does your lap show up on the pitboard but doesnt make a ghost? Ot just doesnt even count your lap?
