Live bike data

Post by dylan22 »

My main sponsor / good mate / reason I can race dirt bikes. Just ordered this sick suspension thing where it collects live data as you ride. So you can plug it in and see exactly what your suspension is doing and where it needs improvement etc. something like this for MXS would be quite useful. How hard would it be ?

Hutchy's gettin high tech haha nah, this would be sick and would help everyone get their own setup dialed for how they ride without spending hours and hours testing

There was a thread on this a while back, I can't remember the outcome. I really like the idea tho and it would be nice to see that you are bottoming out or not using all the travel and whatnot to make adjustments. Would be super sweet to have it on live and on a demo to follow along through different sections to see where the problem areas are.

It never really went anywhere.

Telemetry would be pretty cool, I guess, but I don't know that the ideal/optimal suspension setup based on full-stroke usage, etc would work all that well in MXS with all the little physics quirks and the way that the bike responds and stuff. I can see someone writing a program to analyze data from a 5 lap race and determine the "perfect" suspension settings, which would be kind of cool.

I just imagined it kinda like how iracing has those coloured bars up the top right. Letting you know how hard your force feedback etc is working. Like there could be seperate coloured bars on a corner of the screen in replay or something that show you how your compression and rebound etc is working. How much of it your actually using. And how fast it's working etc. by what the coloured bars are doing.
