Auto-Dab on Start and Laps Remaining

Post by Sweendoggy »

Just got done racing the FAM MX race and realized, when you are slow and get lapped, it would be nice to know how many laps are remaining in the race. I was behind a guy for position, and I slowed up to let a guy lapping me by instead of passing the guy in front of me, then the checker flag flew and I had no chance to pass him. I wish I had known! (yeah yeah, in this case I should have seen the white flag, but I'd still like to see something on my pit board)

Also Auto-Dab should be enforced for the start to ensure nobody falls over onto anyone.

Falling on people in the start and causing them penalty is my signature move, do not take that away from me.

IRL you don't know how many laps are remaining too.

IRL you have a mechanic with a pit board.

I would like to think people would want to compare the simulation experience of MXS to that of a pro level racer IRL? At least I would, I don't really understand the negativity towards knowing laps remaining, especially since we already have a pit board..

I'm not against it, just that I don't have a mechanic. Maybe something like leaders on lap x/y ?

I can see that as an option when I add custom pitboards. Not sure I want it on the stock board though.

Good point on the starting gate flop shenanigans.

Yeah, the laps remaining was really an additional thought to the "flopping" and I hope I'm not 4 laps down at every race I compete in moving forward :)

With the starting gate auto-dab, couldn't you make that an optional thing like Knockouts? Something that can be turned on or off depending on what the server admin wants

Under what circumstances would falling over on the gate be preferred?

Some UI improvements really more important (in my mind) where I never had returns : http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=26064
