RF tracks for upcoming seasons

I personally have always liked the idea of pushing races off until they happen irl. By pushing the sim race off, you can analyze the actual pro SX, MX and MXGP events so you can create almost a copy of the track. By this I mean condition wise, so say if Seattle SX is a mud race, the RF Seattle will be muddy also when the track is released. Even if Anaheim were to get rough and rutted, the erode settings could be changed before releasing the sim version. Just always been a thought I've had and wonder if anyone else has thought about it.

Random side note: bikes being able to lock up or overheat would be a sick addition IMO

How long do you think it takes to make a track?

If races are run on a wednesday, you'd have at least a 1.5 week delay minimum. Unless you want the trackmakers to really rush things and burn themselves out.

Well that wouldn't be terrible if it took another two weeks. If and thats a large IF, things were to go that way, I think a lot of people would understand them trying to make the most realistic experience to the real races!

Not trying to say it HAS to come out a few days after, if they needed time then they could work that out and get the time necessary.

Not going to happen, sorry. A lot more time goes into these tacks than you realize and we also only have our free time to get these tracks done. This isn't a day job, this is a free time chore.

Besides the time factor, the reason for doing the racing this way was decided because it is what is best for the series/game. The hype/anticipation/attention from racing the week prior to the race while everyone is anticipating the upcoming race has always been a benefit to attract more racers and a bigger audience. This was even more true when we worked with Vurb to do track previews and such, but still applies in a smaller level within the community at least.

It'll be a unique challenge to see how rF decides to handle this year's multiple race weeks schedule for SX, but even if an event has to run after it's completed date, I wouldn't expect to see an updated track due to the time frame... which speaking of...

It might've changed in the last year or so, but in the past, tracks were started well before the season so that they could be completed on time. Staying on a strict schedule so that racing can be planned and consistent is a challenge when MXS is secondary to IRL responsibilities to a team that has jobs, families, other obligations, etc.

Even if you did a "base" track during off season and then made the updates based on the race, it's going to be rushed and lower quality.

Combine that with an audience that expects the track to ride identical to not only the real race lines from Roczen, but to have the line Alex Ray jumped in B practice after he washed out in the turn and then was getting back into rhythm properly and it's a much higher level of quality expected.

The best chance for something similar to this would be one of the other creators in the game to create a series of their own that comes out during the fall/off season that has the post race replica tracks.
