Auto redirect

Post by JP37R »

I think there should be an ON/OFF option in the menu for the auto re-direct (when the bike is spun to point the right way after a fall). It's helpfull for new players, but it's somewhat frustrating for more experienced players to have to wait for it to spin the bike around. Sometimes it spins 300 degrees clockwise when it could have spun 60 degrees the opposite way to get back on course. I think for this game to be a SIM, this feature should be able to be turned off.

If you disable the automatic sit/dab thing, I believe it disables the redirect.

Yeah, then you have to use the sit/dab button at the start and to get back up.

Yep +1
Just add sub-option to enable dab at start and after crash (if autodab disable) AND instant disable 'auto-direction' when override direction. (b+direction)

Also JLV should (must ^^) change backup key to work in this way too :
actually when pressing B key the bike go back and allow turning while moving back.
It should be : Just backing up and, and like for orientation, not move back, but just allow to move back if leaning back or push the bike if leaning front.
It should be easy to do actually but i'm not JLV.

It could be improved further to fit reality, turning only while pushing front or back. And bonus : like 'quick turning', front brake, lateral leaning and gaz to quickly choose direction by sliding on leg axis. (can i be understood ? ^^)

I just posted in DJ's "dabbing ze' foot" thread too. I was having all kinds of frustration on the custom tracks on 03, so I took some time to try and figure out what was making it so hard to play.

The way it is now, autodab makes it so that when you crash on a steep face there's no way to aim yourself away from it. Anytime you use back-up autodab just tips you over and re-aims you. I don't like needing to hold sit or use sticky dab just to stay standing, but I'd rather just aim myself with back-up.

Could auto dab and re-direct be separate options?
