Start gate - track dependent
Yo JLV. Could you please make it so we can have custom start gates on tracks we are making? Surely it can't be hard, just add a line to the timing gate files, and the game can use this directory instead of the hard coded directory for the current gate. Heck, even changing the current directory from "@startgate.jm" to "@loadedtrack/startgate.jm" would do the job. Cheers.

I like this idea. It's better than having SX startgates everywhere i go. Good thinking.

I'd like it to be backward and forward compatible if possible. Might add a new file for misc track options.

Gotta love this idea.
JLV, could you not just make the classes that read the files, cater for old and new versions (in that, if certain fields are not in the files, they are substituted with deafult values)
I just think another config file can start making things confusing (which file has which configs etc)

It will be easy to do. I just keep forgetting about it.

Re: Start gate - track dependent
Ore maybe a way you can choose your gate's ?
- When you practice for riding a race for the emf series and you got for example 10th time, i think it would be really nice if you can choose your gate as 10th rider
. Like in the Robot race's

Type 'server, gate xxx'
This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 255 character limit.

Re: Start gate - track dependent
Maybe it could be possible that the hoster just type in the qualifying order and then the system will take the "server, gate" entries in the right order.
This would give the qualification (especially for the EMF) more priority. Now it doesn't matter if you qualify 1st or 25th.

JLV would it be possible to add sound effects to when the gate drops? Just an idea

Re: Start gate - track dependent
Why? The over-revved bike would drown out the sound of the gate dropping anyways.. So it would be pointless..
