MCM1-style sx track editor

Post by Axle McOctane »

I may get roasted for such a noobish suggestion, but I think it would be great for lazy/stupid players, as well as sales, to have a very easy-to-use supercross track editor. In MCM1, and a couple other video games (Jeremy McGrath for N64, perhaps?) there are very simple SX track editors where there is basically a grid of squares and there are options of different kinds/sizes of pre-made obstacles to put in those squares. There could be a couple kinds of 180 and 90 degree berms to choose from, maybe a couple kinds of flat turns, and various pre-made jumps, dragon backs, whoops, etc...

The vast majority of customers will probably never learn how to make a decent track, but this way anybody could create a supercross track that is somewhat comparable to the series replica tracks we race on. Anyone else like this idea?

I think this is an awesome idea. It could still be the same as is now but with an option to load these items.

Of course I didn't mean to imply that the current editor be in any way replaced. In fact, it would be cool to have tracks made in the simple editor be modifiable in the advanced (current) editor, so that certain ruts or track deterioration could be worked in.
