Use of Abnormal Buttons

My mouse has two other buttons on the side (http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-behemo ... e-eol.html) that I normally use for forward/back (in windows explorer and internet). I wanted to use them for fast forward and reverse while watching demos, but the game doesn't recognize them. Would it be possible to be able to use buttons like this? Right now I use the scroll wheel click for reverse but it's kind of annoying to use it since the wheel wants to turn too, and '/' for fast forward. It'd be easier having all of the controls on the mouse .

Can you map the buttons to keyboard keys? The extra buttons can be read using DirectInput instead of the standard Windows messages, but to work around Alienware bugs I had to skip over non joystick DirectInput devices in the latest version.

Yeah I can use keyboard keys for them.

OMG!! I feel like such a noob now. It wasn't until I read your post that I figured out you can now fastforward demos After all this time waiting forever for the demo to get to where I want it..... Well thanks for saying that in the post lol.
