Terrain Deformation
I think it would be cool if this were to be added into the game. Have the terrain get ripped apart and start to create your own ruts and berms. I know, that this was probably mentioned when Reflex came out. lol. Just wondering if we might see that in this game eventually?

Re: Terrain Deformation
It may be, but it isn't refined enough it could use a fair bit of work but I guess every track would have to be redonerobbimagg wrote:its already in the game, you have to turn it on in the target line in the shortcut

Re: Terrain Deformation
can you add the erode line if you have the editor line there or do you have to choose one or the other ??

Re: Terrain Deformation
You can have both of them.
It'll just look like this.
It'll just look like this.
Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files\MX Simulator\mx.exe" --erode 1.0 --editor-

Re: Terrain Deformation
does it make a noticable difference to the terrain to where you can see it eroding or not really nothing at all.

Re: Terrain Deformation
It depends on what strength you use, but the shading doesn't update by itself so you won't be able to see anything until you update the shading manually in the editor.

Re: Terrain Deformation
Go into the editor, zoom out, change the strength of the tool (you can just keep it on raise) to 0, then paint the whole track.

Re: Terrain Deformation
Is this after or before having made the eroded lines? Or are they made already? BTW this might be a very noobish question... but when I change the end of the folder thingy to --editor and whatnot, but I play the snapshot, it doesn't work. :Syzmxer608 wrote:Go into the editor, zoom out, change the strength of the tool (you can just keep it on raise) to 0, then paint the whole track.

You have to do it to the shortcut.
After you use erode.

Re: Terrain Deformation
I think I've messed everything up... I have my hard drive split into two, C: and D: -- I downloaded MX Simulator and installed it, supposedly, on D: But now that I look the main MX Simulator program is on C:. Should I re-install it or what? Because I have saved everything on D:, Including the snapshots, and they work fine, but I can't use the --erode or anything else because the main program is in C... this is odd.

Re: Terrain Deformation
Just find where the mx.exe is, and create a shortcut for it, then use that to add the " --erode 1.0".

Re: Terrain Deformation
Wouldnt it be easier if JLV just added this to the game and you could turn it on or off if you like? Cause the reason why I wont do it, is because im afraid to screw up the game. lol
