MXSP Server (Supercross Qualifying)

Post by Joe »

I figure since a lot of people are in the sever qualifying for SX there will be some incidents and people will need to be banned. JLV if posting this topic in here is a problem please take it down.

This is only for my server and I will follow the same rules as JLV for the supercross qualifying.
If you want to report someone, give me the following info:
1. A description of what they did wrong.
2. A demo of the incident.
3. The numbers of the riders involved.

Rough passing is allowed. I'm only interested in banning people who are playing demolition derby instead of racing.

i don't wanna cause a fight but the hardest part of qualifying for the super cross series is that half the people in the server aren't in there to qualify, they are just in there to race. the problem is (and this happens to me a lot) if someone is trying to set a fast lap and then some guy who couldn't care less about qualifying comes up and block passes you and takes you out. i posted on the chat that qualifying should be setup like warmup mode with collisions disabled so you can focus on setting a fast lap without a guy taking you out just for laughs and a lot of people agreed.

If you can't turn a good enough lap to qualify in traffic you're not good enough to race yet. What is the sense of being able to turn a fast lap with no other riders on the track, when in order to race you need to be able to handle riding with others?

Some people have busier and different schedules from others, and cannot afford to spend 3+ hours trying to get a clean, reasonably fast lap in because there are 20+ people racing.

If the qualifying were in warmup mode, the cream would obviously rise to the top. Fairness would remain, but it qualifying would be a far less time-consuming process.

Or, we could do like in real life, and have a separate "Qualifying" function (not a race function) where there are a limited number of riders on the track at a time, and each one waits and lets the rider in front of them get a straightaway of distance away. The extra riders in the server will be in ghost mode, and will get their turn to qualify at the next restart.

That's my suggestion

Look at most pro series of motorsports

F1 had lonely qualifying for 3 years or more
SBK had lone SuperPole for a long long time
NASCAR has had it for a lot of time too

I think we should have level-based SX servers for qualifying
Something like :
· If you placed on top 100-150 on the last round go to rF's server
· If you placed out of that go to 02
Howcanyoubesofuckingdumbthatyou'rereadingthis??

yeah but this isnt F1 superbike or nascar so get over it and qualify with others online. its the same for everyone to qualify!

I know this would be very difficult for you to verify, but in the past 3 weeks I have ran less than 5 races during the week in order to get my lap time. This week I joined Joe's server for 3 races, or about 30 minutes, and was able to run a 1:02.0 in that amount of time. For that matter, until race night, it has been the only MX Simming I have been doing. Working 12hr days here...

Your suggestion of letting a rider go so you can have a clear track works as it is now as well. You're just as likely to catch them or have them fall and impede your lap.

I will admit, having people trying to race in the server instead of just set one fast lap does get annoying, but if you just make sure to mind your own and watch for the gaps you can set your lap in a short amount of time.
