Computer crashes on exit

Every time i start a race, the computer either restarts at the start of the race or when i press esc and then another button to exit. The computer i am trying to play on is a windows xp with a geforce fx 5200. Are there any bugs for xp like this, or is it my computer. I have done what i can to try and fix it. By the way i tried to update my graphics driver but it just overwrote it with the same file. I would really appreciate some help.

I did that already and it didnt help. I even put a different video card in and it still crashed.
