I can't play online. Is it because of Windows 8?

I have a working registration key but whenever I click on the "Connect to this server" link a box shows up saying "No apps are installed to open this link (mxsimulator)".
And when I try going on manually it says "Connecting to Server" and "WSACONNRESET" over and over. I looked through the app store but there was no app (obviously...in retrospect :lol: ). Is there a way to fix this or am I cursed to never play mx sim online on windows 8? :|

i have windows 8 and have not had any problems getting online so not sure what the problem is

You have to let mx.exe through your firewall.
