windows

Post by Noah124 »

I found my personal folder when looking for the demos folder, but when clicking on it i get hit with shortcut is not working properly due to mx.exe being changed or moved which i'd assume has something to do with me updating the snapshot or doing something wrong along the line. Did i install something improperly or do i need to just delete that shortcut and make a new one for the new mx.exe. I'm a noob on windows 11 and didn't want to mess something up with my game thanks for any help.

The exe goes in the install folder so anything done to the personal folder shouldn't affect it. You might have removed mx.exe from the install folder accidentally. The .exe extension is hidden by default so it will just show as an application named "mx".

The install folder defaults to this.
C:\Program Files (x86)\MX Simulator\

And the personal folder will be like this except "yourusername" should be your username on your system.
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\MX Simulator\

If you email, put "MX Simulator" in the subject to make sure it gets through my spam filter.

No clue how but i was looking in the wrong place for the personal folder. I somehow found a separate folder named "Mx simulator personal folder" that i had seen an old youtube video talking about and that was the one that it was saying the shortcut was not working for. I used to play on macos years ago and recently got back into sim on windows now so total beginner on how this stuff works. Thanks for the help with my dumb question JLV much appreciated.
