Posting for my own easy reference. Don't mind me.

I've tried:
  • Raising priority
  • Switching from shaders/direct to shaders/copy
  • hardware/direct to hardware/copy
  • disabling demo recording
  • updating GFX drivers
  • toggling vsync
  • disabling windows update
  • updating windows
  • ensured DMA was enabled
  • Cleaned computer/heatsinks/fans
  • Re-seated all connections on motherboard (RAM, GPU, CPU, SATA Cables)
  • moved MX Sim drive from SATA 2 to SATA 3 port
  • disabled page file
  • ensured enable write caching was enabled

Have you tried running HDD diagnostics programs?

There's also some softwares from the manufacturers themselves, but those seem to work with most of the brands.

Try uninstalling the drive in device manager and rebooting.

Does the mouse pointer freeze when it skips Phat?

Used both methods and it didn't affect it at all, still keeps freezing. I can move my mouse and press keys its just the frame that freezes. :(

In Device Manager, what do the advanced settings for the drive look like?

Is that under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers? Or disk drives?

I've had this happen many times. Especially during laggier tracks.
