Running server

Post by rewrew421 »

hey guys, i am wondering how rF and other people are running these events. I beleive its from a command line and text file but im not sure?

I would like to know how you set up a race to include certain UIDs in a race, for example heat 1 and heat 2 they disable/enable certain UIDs to be in the race.

Thank you.

They made scripts to do it, I'm not totally sure on how those work, but the commands are

server, forcespec x x x / all
server, forceplay x x x / all

Where the x's are uid's and 'all' either forces everyone in spec mode or in play mode.

Before the 2011 season I did it all by hand. I was a busy guy on race night! Now we upload scripts to the server via ssh/scp.

There are scripts like this that you run with "server, exec heat1list.mxs". My scripts were made with a combination of emacs and unix shell scripts. Not sure what the rF guys make them with.

Sort of, but I don't like the nested parenthesis any more than the next guy. Given a choice I'd probably use Javascript for everything since it has Lisp like features with easier syntax.
